Repeat after me “lack of competition stifles innovation”. By preventing third party products from integrating with apple products Apple reduces competition and the incentive for true innovation.
The only thing the EU is requiring from Apple is that they open and document APIs they reserved for themselves. They are still free to implement new features.

The orders should be clear: Allow anything to be installed without restrictions on apple mobile devices, including a different OS, or pay billions every month you don’t comply. Or leave EU market. We were fine before the iPhone, we’ll be fine after it.
