In an interview with Fox News on March 23, U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff discussed negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, expressing his optimism about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s commitment to peace.
Witkoff, who brokered the now broken Jan. 15 ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, has become a leading figure in negotiations regarding Russia and Ukraine.
When asked whether he was convinced that Putin was seeking peace, he responded in the affirmative: “I feel that he wants peace,” said Witkoff.
Actions speak louder than words. Forget whatever this guy is saying, and draw your own conclusions from the actions Russia has taken in the past.
Hitler, in a speech at the Sportpalast in Berlin, claimed that the Sudetenland was “the last territorial demand I have to make in Europe” and gave Czechoslovakia a deadline of 28 September 1938 at 2:00 p.m. to cede the Sudetenland to Germany or face war.
Sounds familiar somehow.
Yeah I call bullshit.
And I’m sure the Israelies are being super peaceful rn too.
Nono. He doesn’t want to rule over Europe, he just wants every country close and far from Russian borders to unconditionally defer to him in all matters.
You know, just the basic courtesy towards the local world power.

This. Just make Europe a bunch of puppet states.
Then, when you destabilize them or ruin the country, wreck the economy, oppress the people whatever else, it isn’t your country. It’s this other country and your people don’t care (as much) that a bunch of neighbors across the way are fighting for their lives to regain their freedom.
All the weakness and oppression strengthens the countries not going through that.
Russia wants peace the same way I like onions. They don’t.
