Summary

AARP condemned the Trump administration’s plan to require in-person Social Security visits for users unable to verify identity online, starting March 31.

The Social Security Administration claims the move, pushed by Elon Musk’s DOGE, will cut $100 million in fraud but faces backlash over the burden on older Americans.

AARP, an influential lobbying group representing a powerful voting bloc, reported that members sent over 800,000 messages to Congress opposing the changes and demanding protection for Social Security services.

Fuck themselves I hope they all don’t get their checks. This fuckers are huge Trump supporters. What pisses me off is us who are paying in (by no choice of our own) who will never get to use our benefits. That money gone forever.

Did you read the link? Because they aren’t “huge supporters”. They’re near evenly split - 50% republicans, 47% democrat.

I thought it was going to be much worse than this but it’s a pretty close split.

Yeah I was really surprised by that. I expected way more for the GOP. My view might be scwed by all the old people in my family voted for trump.
