There is a easy solution to it. Use a free and open source podcast client like AntennaPod.

This has the added benefit that you don’t contribute to the destruction of podcasts by Spotify which take podcasts which are available for everyone and make them Spotify only.

Is not reading the comments an option? I don’t use spotify for podcasts, but generally on e.g. youtube I don’t read the comments if I know there’s a chance I’ll care about spoilers.
