China’s secret services could use sensors and cameras in the cars to monitor secure areas, wiretap passenger conversations and access phones that are plugged into the vehicle, CSRI senior policy director Sam Goodman said.

Yes, but not all modern cars are made in countries with a dictatorial government seeking to spread their system across the globe.

    Like the US?

There is more than one dictatorship in the world unfortunately, but I guess you understand which country I referred to in this specific case.

Yeah, I just don’t agree it’s the biggest problem in the world currently.

It is certainly a very big problem that needs to be addressed, otherwise it could soon be the biggest problem in the world.

To be honest, if I had to choose a dictatorship to be conquered by I’d pick China over the US hands down. My antipathy for racist macho morons runs deep.

But that’s not the European way of doing things! First we wait till the problem is big enough that it can’t be ignored anymore, then we start discussing if we should do anything about it.
