      that video is from 2016 though? AI has improved significantly since then?

      edit so i just watched the video, and miyazaki says it’s about believing in the abilities which we humans have, and while i agree, actually believing in technology (that humans create) does not contradict that. if anything, it might extend it.

        It’s about the ethics of the thing. Using stolen data to create something is stealing. It’s unethical. Not putting the work in to create something yourself means you’re not relying on your own skills. There’s nothing there to be proud of. AI doesn’t create anything, it just throws the dataset it was given into the mixer and outputs it again in a different pattern.

    Naw its pretty funny. Fascists using it is def awful, fuck them.

    Still not sure why we call it AI, but its not awful or evil or any of that shit. Like most tools, its in the hands of the user. Sadly those are all humans and we are pretty terrible on a large scale.
