It’s the creepiest thing when the anthem starts playing and everyone around you turns into zombies, all facing the same direction, all frozen in place. The first time it happened I felt like I was the only human left in an Invasion of the Body Snatchers situation.

It won’t change how you would handle them, you need to treat them all as a risk, but it would reduce accidental detonation after the time limit. Like a kid running over one in 20 years time.

I interpreted it as a stereotype of certain privileged classes of white people that are so out of touch with the struggles of the world that they don’t realise how dangerous it is to try this. In fact, I think there has been cases of upper/middle-upper class people who have gone on these kinds of tourism-pilgrimage and have ended up dead.
