Yea, that’s the bs payments I was referring to. I was deviating from my point already, so I didn’t wanna get into it, but yea.

Just for reference: https://www.aarp.org/politics-society/government-elections/info-2024/post-election-poll.html
For no reason in particular.
You’re incorrect mostly because the postal service (pretty famously at least in leftist spaces) DID make money (not every year admittedly). In fact, by law (aka cuz capitalists got mad) the post office is expected to ensure pricing covers the cost of fulfillment so the market stays competitive. Arguably, the main reason it is facing difficulties is because the government tried to force some bs payments onto it that were reversed by Biden in 2022. Regardless, you’re kind of making my point? It really feels like people are not reading what I wrote. The argument that a government agency needs funding and therefore can’t be a source of cost cutting or revenue is a bad argument. Governments require money to function. If the agency costs money, saves money, or makes money, it doesn’t matter. At some point, money will need to be allocated to it, even if it’s just to start it up. Saying “it costs money so that a problem” doesn’t make sense as an argument, even if it’s used against doge.
For clarity: I AM PRO POST OFFICE AND ANTI DOGE.
I never said they did (or didn’t)? Clearly they are attempting to now, but my comment was not really about doge in specific. I said that needing funding is not inherently antithetical to a cost cutting department, and that it’s not really a valid reason to take issue with a department. I also said more than once that I don’t like/support doge.
Not sure if it’s a reading comprehension issue, or people are on edge because literal fascist are coming out from the woodwork, but not every comment against Doge/Trump/Elon is valid (most are) and not every comment pointing that out is inherently fascist.
Nah, you’re all good. You never know how to read things online. I’ll leave it up just in case it saves someone else the time lol.
I dislike doge just as much as the next person, but we all know this is not a good counterpoint and if used against dems we would ridicule it. You can’t just willy nilly move government funds around (legally, don’t get me started on all the illegal bs happening), so if doge is hiring people that are getting paid, the money needs to come from somewhere. That allocation would need to happen even if they WERE cutting billions in spending (they’re not). That is a good rule for governments to have. There are sooooo many reasons to dislike doge, but the fact that a government agency needs funds to run is not a problem. People have been complaining about the post office using similar rhetoric. Just because it costs money, doesn’t mean it’s not saving/making money.
For the record: DOGE AND TRUMP AND ELON ARE BAD
So you just responded for fun? You thought they were 100% accurate and you posted screenshots just to agree with them?
I did not assume everyone notices or remembers everything and even if I did how would that even relate to arrogance? I said it’s ok to be mistaken. You seem to be unable to process that. Really, good luck, because it seems like you’re going to continue to have a rough go of it.
Not that you asked for advice, but if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, I’d try role playing a scenario before ever actually doing it. Like she pretends she doesn’t want to, even though she does, and she gets to experience you saying bossy/dismissive things while she’s actively consenting. Consensual non-consent is a real thing, but people on both ends need to have a pretty good grasp of the situation. Plenty of people realize they’re not actually into a kink they thought they had once it becomes even just pretend real. The role playing phase (or ramp up phase depending on the kink) is sometimes helpful to people new to kink. Although it’s not the same as engaging in the kink, I’d recommend it as a first step almost universally.
The fact she was anti safe word is obviously a red flag, and I wouldn’t do anything with someone uninterested in safe words.
But that’s not what it looks like to you. It’s what you remembered it looking like. If it looked like that to you, you’d have a completely different experience of discord than anyone else. I didn’t downvote or anything, but you basically said “you’re wrong”, but they were correct.
Your comment could potentially have mislead others. People downvoted so it was less likely to be seen. When you noticed the downvotes, you acted like you were getting downvoted for admitting to an oversight. Even now you’re acting like you were just trying to “learn something” and pretending like you were never actually suggesting they were incorrect. It’s ok to just say you were mistaken. You weren’t downvoted for saying you were mistaken, you were downvoted for being wrong and potentially downvoted more for then complaining about downvotes.
Walt Disney was a capitalist charging admission to a controlled capitalist environment. This is public land that we all collectively own and should care for. Trash bins add to overhead and are bad for surrounding wildlife. We can all just do our part. We owe Disney nothing. We owe the land and our society everything. Big difference.
Dont know what you mean by performative capitalism, but carry in carry out is pretty standard fare environmentalism. Though these people are not carrying in, they are making the decision to buy onsite and should then accept carry out responsibilities.
Different experiences then, because most people I’ve spoken to about it there and back home have talked about how clean it was despite that and commended the society for being so responsible with their waste.
Lots of corner stores and vending machines in Japan that sell basically full meals and no trash can in sight.
I don’t think people realize that custodial staff are different than general park staff. If they have bins then they need to deal with that whole process and have at least one dedicated employee. I’d rather have to carry my trash and let the park use that money elsewhere.
For what it’s worth, I do agree it’s probably “gentrification” in the sense that the concept of carry in/carry out is more prevalent in middle class communities, mostly because they are more likely to engage in hobbies where or go to places where it’s a more prevalent part of the culture. I’m not sure non-middle class people have the same experiences/lifestyle that lead to thinking this makes sense to do.
Good on you for recognizing what was happening and changing your behavior because of it.
Definitely. And as soon as you say something leftist you’re accused of not voting or “throwing away your vote” so you can’t complain. Like, I get it. “Have the day you voted for” etc, but libs are pointing fingers at the wrong people. I’ve said it like a million times before, but sooo many of my leftist friends reluctantly voted Kamala when they were vehemently opposed to her stance on Palestine and now feel like they sold out for nothing. Like, at least if they hadn’t voted they could say they stood for something. Now they don’t even have a high horse to ride into the apocalypse on. The way libs will break your spirit is wild. They have more energy to fight leftists than republicans.
Thank you!
If you get anything together for na’scrivas, I’d love to see it! I love all the sharing of world building that the internet has brought to the hobby. So many different groups will interact with the same NPCs or locations because their GM saw a post about them online and I think that’s so cool. Really adds to the shared language and community of the hobby.
I’d really love for that to be the case (enough people caring about genocide to decide an election), but it just isn’t. The data shows that people on the left still came out to vote and she lost a bunch of centrist votes or people who are seen as “low information”/unmotivated voters. Those people don’t care about Palestine. They thought she was weird, or a DEI candidate, or just weren’t inspired to get up and vote for her. I’m not saying she needs to go more centrist, but people like populism and she just didn’t do it.
Honestly, her campaign already signaled that. This, if true, just reinforces it. It also reinforces that Biden was a bad leader, which he was.
Obligatory: I voted for Harris and Biden and dems down ticket every election since I’ve been old enough to vote.
A bit of a cop out, but I’ve been wanting to tinker with the homebrewery, so I just made a lil 1 page NPC sheet for fun. Not quite an encounter, not even a statblock lol, but I was tinkering so I figured I’d share.
For real. We need to get rid of games where 10 Red coins = 2.2 mystic gems = 1256 diamonds = 1.56 flowers and you can only buy red coin and only spend flowers and each conversion has a 1 green coin processing fee and you have to convert in that order. It’s predatory and so sad that people get duped by it.
