2 days agoIt’s great how, they might have list the contest, but it’s undisputably the most “successful” piece of art that came out of it
I don’t know what the contest was for, but the piece itself really struck a major cord with its target audience
I mean, look at it this way, if someone has a pride flag pin on their jacket, are they more, or less, likely to be safe to approach as a queer person?
It entirely depends on what it is you’re looking for, if it’s immutable characteristics, yeah, that’s bad
But looking at who is safe and who isn’t in this and similar manners, is something minorities and women have always been doing
Besides, this is tangential to the actual joke in the meme, which basically is just a jokey way of saying “they’re friend”
